Rapid Wildfire Risk Assessments
Black Forest Fire Rescue firefighters are committed to conducting Rapid Wildfire Risk assessments on every property within the fire district. The purpose of these assessments is to evaluate the wildfire hazard and identify the specific mitigation needs of each property.
As part of this process, property owners will receive a score card containing the risk assessment results for their property. However, it is important to note that the rapid wildfire risk assessments are solely intended to provide our fire department with additional information regarding the areas in the district that are at higher risk for wildfires.
To further support property owners in making their properties more defendable and survivable, we encourage them to consider opting for a more detailed Firewise assessment. This assessment will provide valuable recommendations and suggestions on how to enhance the defensibility of their property against wildfires. If you are interested in scheduling a Firewise assessment, please visit our Firewise Program Page and complete the provided form.
We value the safety of our community and aim to use these assessments to better understand the wildfire risks within the district, as well as to assist property owners in taking proactive measures to mitigate those risks effectively.
